Plume CMS 1.0 Released

# The 2004-09-26
by Loïc d'Anterroches.

After 2.5 years as a SourceForge project, 2 near to be full rewrites, 1 complete rewrite, 9 Release Candidate versions, n hours of development, 150 Kg of pasta and cheese, an unaccountable number of coffee cups, 3 name changes and a lot of fun, HT, alias PXSystem, alias XULit!, alias Plume CMS is released in 1.0 version.

I would like to thanks for their help, the many users who gave their feedback, the others who contributed some code or documentation, the one wanting Plume CMS to be a porn website manager, the other complaining because of the lack of coffee machine support and of course you, as you are spending (losing?) some time reading these lines before downloading the 1.0 version.

I had a lot of fun, I will have even more when you will start submitting tons of bugs and requesting lot of features.

Thanks a lot,
Loïc

Name change to PLUME CMS

# The 2004-09-26
by Loïc d'Anterroches.

As of today, XULit! CMS is dead and we wish long life to PLUME CMS. You may have some trouble accessing the website during the next 24/48h as we are undergoing a DNS change. You will also see that the content of the website is updated to reflect the name change.

The official 1.0 release of PLUME CMS will be ready in the next 24h after the last quality control checks, we try to minimize the need of a dot release just after the 1.0 by testing on as many platforms as possible, from plain old PHP 4.1.2 to the last PHP 5.

The French dictionary Larousse gives:

PLUME n.f. (lat. pluma, duvet). 1. Organe produit par l'épiderme des oiseaux, [...], formé d'une tige creuse (calamus) portant des barbes, et servant au vol [...] 2. Morceau de métal, en forme de bec et qui, fixé à un porte-plume, à un stylo, sert à écrire.

Which translated in English from Dictionary.com gives:

QUILL n. 1. The hollow stemlike main shaft of a feather. Also called calamus. 2. Any of the larger wing or tail feathers of a bird. 3. A writing pen made from the shaft of a feather.

Enjoy!
